Clara Step Barrel

The barrel named after Clara Pilates with a specially contoured design featuring a sharper arch for spinal support and a seat ensuring the correct pelvic alignment during exercise. This model of the barrel is equipped with cut-out handholds that provide safety and stability during exercise. They also make it easy to carry and transport the barrel. The stable frame is covered with heavy-duty black upholstery. The barrel can be used on a flat surface, on a mat, or on the floor.

Training with the spine corrector strengthens the muscles and stabilizes the lumbar spine, prevents the occurrence of any discomfort, and relieves back pain. The product can be successfully used in rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

The design of the barrel with its characteristic vertical cut-out handholds replacing exterior metal handles is based on the design of the step barrel used by Clara Pilates. Her student, Ron Fletcher, noticed how much she liked that apparatus and how the cut-out handholds facilitated the work. Today the barrel is one of the basic elements used in the Fletcher Pilates program.
